Biomass Boilers, Incinerators & Furnaces

Biomass Boilers, Incinerators & Furnaces

Biomass boilers offer an environmentally sound heating solution. Burning biomass, such as wood pellets or logs, emits the same amount of carbon dioxide as is absorbed while the plants were growing. Therefore, biomass is classed as carbon-neutral renewable energy.

Biomass boilers burn biomass fuels extremely efficiently and use the heat produced to provide heating and sometimes hot water. They can also be more cost effective and efficient than fossil fuel boilers, especially in rural or off mains gas areas.

Biomass Boilers, Incinerators & Furnaces

Incinerators for waste management (whether medical, animal/poultry, general municipal waste etc.) can burn at temperatures as high as 1000°C

Furnaces/Ovens/Kilns come in many shapes and sizes and are used in many industrial heating applications.

In all cases, whether it is a boiler, oven or furnace door there is a need for an insulating seal of some description.

For temperatures of +1000°C, Pyroglass offer alkaline earth silicate rope laggings or small diameter twisted or knitted silica ropes.

For temperatures around 600°C, Pyroglass Limited offer square glass fibre packings, glass fibre rope seals, glass rope lagging and custom made P sections and bolsters.
Other Boilers

There are many types of domestic and industrial boilers and it is very likely that most of them will require some form of seal. For high temperature resistance a glass fibre seal is often the preferred material whether it is in a round, square or tadpole shape.

Certain specialist industrial condensing boilers require seals that are resistant to the by-products of combustion including acidic chemicals and water. For these applications Pyroglass offer the benefit of a high temperature glass fibre seal, which is protected with a high-grade moisture and chemical resistant silicone elastomer coating.
