PYROSEAL - Rope Seals
A comprehensive range of round section glass fibre seals available in plain white or graphite coated. Compression / density can be varied to suit the application.
Typical applications include seals for woodburning / multi-fuel / pellet stoves, boiler casings, heat exchangers, flue systems, ash pans , and burner mounting assemblies.
These seals are also available in the form of ‘O’ ring gaskets or cut to length.
PYROSEAL - Stainless Steel Reinforced Seals
By reinforcing a glass fibre seal with stainless steel wire, a seal with unique characteristics is created. Wire reinforced seals keep their dimensions under the most arduous conditions.
Due to the steel wire reinforcement, these seals are capable of withstanding pressures from heavy doors and lids.
The presence of the stainless steel ensures that the seal will spring back to its original profile even after many years in service.
PYROLAG /SUPERWOOL - Laggings
Pyrolag – Glass fibre rope lagging for temperatures up to 550 deg. C. Available in diameters from 6mm – 50mm. The low thermal conductivity of Pyrolag offers an ideal and cost effective method of insulating hot pipework.
Pyrolag has also been adopted for flue sealing / caulking, and Thermal Acoustic applications.
Superwool – Body soluble high temperature (1100 deg C) Mineral rope lagging available in diameters from 10mm – 70mm. The standard version has a glass outer braid. The rope will continue to function at very high temperature even after the glass has melted provided it is contained.
Superwool has found applications in expansion joint packing in boilers, furnaces, kilns, and as a door seal in Coke Ovens.
PYROSEAL - Square Braids
High strength, low compressibility, square section braided glass fibre packings. Square braids can be found in kiln cars / smelting applications, boilers, and heat exchangers. These high density packings are suitable for numerous heavy duty sealing and insulating applications.
PYROTAPE - Glass Tapes/Webbings
A full range of tapes from 6mm up to 150mm wide.
These Glass Tapes / Webbings are available in various thicknesses, plain white, graphite coated, or with self adhesive backings.
There are many uses for these versatile tapes including: flange sealing on hot air and gas ducting, boiler access and inspection doors, heat exchangers, primary and secondary insulation of pipework, and heating appliance glass window seals.
PYROTAPE - Glass Ladder Tapes
Ladder tapes, sometimes referred to as bolt hole tapes, are an ideal medium for sealing sections of
ducting carrying hot air flue gases. Ladder tapes also fold neatly around the edge of heating appliance window glass to form a high temperature cushion / seal.
They are available in white, graphite coated, or with self adhesive backings.
PYROSEAL - 'P' Section Seals
‘P’ Section seals, also known as a Tadpole or Keyhole Seals, are custom made to individual customer requirements. The bead diameter and compression along with the tail length can be altered to suit specific applications.
‘P’ Section seals are used in a wide range of industries where high temperature resistance is required. Typical applications include industrial boilers, bakery / catering oven doors, drying ovens, and furnaces / kilns.
PYROSLEEVE - Sleeving
Pyrosleeve thick wall glass fibre sleeving is available as plain white glass, or with various silicone coatings. A heat treated glass sleeve (with reduced fray when cut) is also available.
Pyrosleeve is a very flexible sleeve ideally suited for covering and protecting intricate pipework, hoses, wires, and cables. It gives protection against heat / metal splash and will offer control over heat loss from pipework.
'O' RINGS & CUT LENGTHS
We have a specialist department that fabricates ‘O’ rings from ropes and tapes to suit individual customer needs. We also offer a cutting service. Cut lengths and other fabricated parts are designed to increase our customer’s productivity, reduce operator handling and cut down on costly waste.
We are always delighted to discuss special requirements and assist in developing the correct and most cost effective fabricated seal for any particular application.
KITS/ADHESIVES
PYROGLASS is able to supply ‘kits’ for the after sales / repair market.
The kit includes high temperature rope or tape cut to length, along with a suitable high temperature adhesive neatly packaged and labelled. Your header card can be added to the kit where required.
Thermic 1100 deg. C water based ceramic adhesive is also available as a separate item in tubes, cartridges, or tubs. Colours are beige or anthracite.
